Welcome to the Independence Place Blog! Today we have a post about one of the newer trends that is taking the country by storm — Escape the Room games — have become a thing, including venues in Rhode Island. What are they? At the end of the month our thoughts will turn toward football, family, fun, and food — in a word, Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is about all of those things; indeed, the first Thanksgiving was a celebration of making it through a difficult year and having a bounty of food going into the fall, which is a good thing to celebrate. Perhaps the pilgrims knew something we have re-discovered: gratitude does a body good. Studies have shown that people who focus on being grateful are overall happier in relationships and with their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
